A ribbon cutting ceremony was held April 10, officially opening the new South Precinct of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office. The South Precinct is located at 2985 Ronald Reagan Boulevard on the campus of South Forsyth High School.

"The location of this new facility is certainly a benefit, providing quick access to Highway 141, Ronald Reagan Boulevard and Georgia 400," said Board of Commissioners Chairman Charles Laughinghouse. "Our proximity to South Forsyth High School is also a great benefit. We are appreciative of the Board of Education’s role in and support of this project. What an asset this new precinct will be to our Sheriff’s Office, to our citizens and to our community."

The new precinct will be home to approximately 62 uniformed personnel and 8 investigators. Ground was broken for the new facility on May 10, 2007.
